Color before it's time??!!

So for all you ladies that dyed your hair before your locks were completely locked, do you regret it? Do you wish you had waited? I want some color BAD, but I can’t afford a bad mistake. I am getting tired of the dullness of my locks, and want to spice them up, but, I am reaaaally afraid. Thoughts??

  1. Originally I regretted it, because I felt bunching on some of my locks. A few months later, I don't regret it and I'm happy I did. I may be in a place where I don't like them anymore :-)!!! If you plan to do it try a natural color.

  2. Hi hi! I couldn't imagine my locs without color...I've been obsessed with hair color since I was younger. I colored mine around 8 months or so. But I don't have SLs. I did my research and colored my locs myself three times. So yes, I do regret coloring them so many times but I LOVE how the color looks. The next time around, however, I will go to my loctician. Only because I didn't distribute the color so well when I did it myself. I've been talking about color a lot on my blog at LocRocker.com.

    Stay beautiful!

  3. I am itching for color now too. But it is too early for me plus my consultant would kill me:) I guess if I hadn't gone through so much drama already with having to get my locks redone because of an earlier and very $costly$ mistake I would probably give it a whirl. But whatever you decide I wish you the best.

  4. I colored mine in ummmm month 4 I believe. I used the bowl/brush method rather than the bottle/nozzle method as to disturb the locks less. I didn't shampoo but rinsed all the color out for like 20 min in the shower to make sure it was all gone. I also didn't condition, but applied a bit of coconut oil to replenish the moisture and sat under the dryer. I had some slipping at my crown, but that happened even when I shampooed because I didn't braid and band. I know I'm bad.

If you are just looking for spots of color, try putting a shower cap on ur head and then pulling out the sections of hair you want to color. That will make sure your roots don't slip as well as be easier to rinse when the time comes. If you do color, do so because you feel comfortable, not because I had a decent color experience. Im interested in seeing what u decide.
