Budding??

Hey SL Sisters... This is really for the newbies... Are you guys experiencing budding? Are your ends sealing? I am experiencing a lot of it! I am glad to see it as that is a sign that these babies are on there way! Seems like right afte my vacation and a good wash, I really started to see those pea-pod balls at the end. I thought that since my hair was so soft that it would takie a while. Could this mean that I will be able to actually get color in a year??? *Crossing fingers...*

    Congrats, congrats!! I've been budding but I haven't gotten too excited because I haven't seen the lock seal further past the bud yet. So hopefully in another few months I will see a difference, but hey is just the next stage and we take it anyway we can get it!!

    I think someone needs to write a Sisterlocks/dreadlocks dictionary, cos I read all these blogs and see things like 'bunching', 'budding', 'slippage' etc and I'm gonna put my hand up (and risk being the dumb one) because I don't know what they mean (except slippage of course which is easy to figure out). So I dunno - maybe I do, maybe I don't. Hopefully someone will educate me.

    Bajan, as Goodnapps put it in regards to budding, "During this phase a small bud (like a pea in a pod) begins to emerge about three quarters down the lock. The matted, interlocking imprint begins at the bud and then expands like a bubble because it is beginning to loosely mat. It is an enlarged microcosm of a lock. At this stage the lock is no longer tight and thin. It is rebellious, has a mind of its own and is discovering its own way (teen locks). It acts like a teenager in a sense."

    I know how you feel with all of the terminology. Lucky, the gurus are kind enough to share their knowledge.

    I was super elated to see my first few buds last week; when my loctitian told me today that some werent washing out. Oh yeah, my babies are growing up. Wishing u all a wonderful loc journey. Peace
